February Meeting Hospitality:
To Be Announced

Alix began her artistic career as an abstract contemporary artist in Europe – Strasbourg, France and Heidelberg, Germany. She is now living and working in Denver, Colorado. Her work is collected by many national and international corporations and private investors. She is currently represented in Denver by Zip 37 Gallery and Nationally by the Denver Art Company.

As a colorist, she experiences great emotional impact from colors, and uses them to create mood and feeling. She deals with abstractions that hint at spirituality and lush colors that create shifting illusion, and partially hides forms and colors under transparent layers, leaving viewers to create their own experiences.

Everyone who brings a painting is encouraged to put your name into the basket for the Lucky Artist drawing! The "Lucky Artist" will receive a check for $10. (Lucky Artist winners may win one time only during the year.) Congratulations to Kate Cissell on being chosen the Lucky Artist at the January meeting.

Please join us for refreshments, Lucky Artist of the Month, and an interesting and enjoyable program. Visitors are always welcome.

ABOUT MOUNTAINSIDE ART GUILD

Mountainside Art Guild is dedicated to the pursuit and promotion of artistic endeavors in visual fine arts including original painting, drawing, photography, collage, silk-screen, etching, sculpture, digital, etc.

Mountainside Art Guild is a Lakewood, Colorado-based group made up of artists ranging from the amateur to the professional.  It was first organized in 1970 by a handful of dedicated artists and has since grown to become one of the most active art groups in the Denver metropolitan area.

Meetings are the first Wednesday of the month.  Meetings consist of a short business meeting, a drawing for the "Lucky Artist," and a program (demonstration, critique, or presentation).

Officers are elected at the annual meeting each November and include the President, Vice Presidents, Secretary, Treasurer, and all special Chairmen.
