Ancient Egyptian Art of
Encaustics
Jan Lysinger
Jan will be giving a demo of the ancient, but currently very popular, art form of encaustics. She works in watercolor, acrylic, pastel, collage, and encaustics, moving from abstract to realism, depending on the subject matter. Extensive travels, an interest in photography, and outdoor activities have all served as a source of inspiration. Jan paints on a regular schedule with fellow artists on location and in the studio.She also has studied with leading local and national artists. Jan is a signature member of both the Colorado and Kansas Watercolor Societies. Jan also is an active member of Foothills Art Center, the Arvada Fine Arts Guild, and the Painted Toe Society. Her award winning paintings are shown in many exhibitions and juried competitionsWe would like to say a special "Thank-you" to Jan for stepping in for Miriam Ritter to do this program.We wish Miriam lots of "get well soon" wishes and look forward to her presentation next year. |

Remember to bring in a painting so everyone can see what
you've all been working on lately. When you do this, you are eligible
to enter the drawing; if your name is drawn, you will qualify to exhibit
one piece of art (along with all the lucky artist winners for the year)
at the South Union Gallery on their Community Art wall.
