Karen Misko

About the Artist

My name is Karen Misko, and I was born in Mansfield, Ohio.  I became interested in studying the works of some of the renowned artists while I was in high school.

After high school I attended The Ohio State University where, as part of my undergraduate degree, I studied drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpture, pottery, and children’s art.  Later, I completed an undergraduate degree in Elementary Education, a graduate degree in Adult Education as well as an endorsement in Middle School Art at the University of Nebraska.

My career was in education where I taught in public schools for over 34 years, many of the years teaching art as well.

My preferred medium is watercolor.  I love to portray impressions of light on various subjects.

I try to remember that every painting is not a masterpiece but just keep painting!
